THE BIG QUESTION
Have you ever been unable to answer a non-believer's question or truth claim about your Christian faith — such as, "If God is good, then why is there so much evil in the world?" or "I don't believe the Bible because it's been changed so many times"?
If God has called you to defend your faith and make disciples, but you don't know what to say or how to say it, this newsletter will help you.
If you don't know where to start, or you've tried and didn't have a process to follow, or you think you could never memorize the words needed to defend your faith — this newsletter will help you.
THE PROCESS
Here's how we'll work through it together, step by step.
Step 1: Evidence
First, we will learn the major points of evidence that prove Christianity is true. Evidence that builds a positive case for objective truth, that there is one personal God, that miracles are possible, that the New Testament is historically reliable, that Jesus is God, and the Bible is the true word of God.
Step 2: Objections and Responses
Next, we’ll learn the major objections to Christianity and how to respond, so we’re never caught off guard again.
Step 3: Engagement
Then, we’ll learn how to engage and share the truth with gentleness and respect, so others may be inspired to seek more information — which, with the Holy Spirit's help, could lead them to Christ.
Step 4: Role-Play
Finally, we lock it in. Following God's call in 1 Peter 3:15, we'll internalize the words through memorization and repetition — together. If you're doubting yourself, don't. I'll put myself on the line too: as we memorize, I'll record raw, unscripted accountability videos. If I can do it, so can you (probably better than me). And remember our Helper, Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (NKJV).
WHY LISTEN TO ME
But why should you join me? You could just read the books yourself, right? What’s my credibility?
My mission may be the same as yours: to defend the faith and make disciples.
My motivation may be similar too. I was lost in worldly sin for decades, but by grace I've been saved through faith — not by my own doing, but as a gift from God. Now I'm blessed beyond measure through Jesus Christ, and that's my motivation.
I started this journey in 2024: reading the Bible in a year, memorizing scripture, attending Bible study and a discipleship program at my church, and building a daily prayer time.
But I knew I needed more training to accomplish my mission of helping others, and that’s when God led me to the study of apologetics—giving a reason or defense for our Christian faith—which sounded like exactly what I needed.
I thought I could just read a few books and that would be enough to defend the faith and make disciples (or so I thought). So, I jumped in and started studying. Here are a few of the books and courses I've completed so far:
Norman Geisler, Twelve Points That Show Christianity Is True
Norman Geisler, When Skeptics Ask
Norman and David Geisler, Conversational Evangelism
Norman Geisler and Frank Turek, I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist
Frank Turek, CrossExamined App (free on mobile)
Greg Koukl, Tactics
Greg Koukl, Street Smarts
Greg Koukl, The Story of Reality
William Lane Craig, Reasonable Faith
Lee Strobel, The Case for Christ
Lee Strobel, The Case for Faith
J. Warner Wallace, Cold-Case Christianity
Ray Comfort, Hell’s Best Kept Secret
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
C.S. Lewis, Miracles
C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man
If you're just getting started, I'd recommend I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist first, then Tactics.
THE PROBLEM
Now it’s two years later, and here is the big problem—the same problem that you may have faced in the past.
How much of the information from these books and courses do you think I’ve internalized to share with others?
Almost zero!
Maybe you have a photographic memory and can share in-depth information like this on the fly without any study, but that’s not most people, and it’s certainly not me.
LET’S GO
So, if you want to follow God’s calling based on 1 Peter 3:15 to defend the faith and Matthew 28:19 to make disciples, then I welcome you to join me.
If you truly want to learn the evidence that builds a positive case for Christianity, and if you want to learn what to say and how to say it when you hear questions or truth claims from nonbelievers, then I welcome you to join me on this journey.
If so, you’ll get a newsletter with one lesson in each issue, including the complete, word-for-word scripts. Separately, you’ll hear from me when I post a new accountability video on YouTube.
Don’t expect a video with every issue, as I’ll only post after I’ve internalized each piece of evidence myself.
I’ll do this by following my simple creation process (read, write, study, record), which is based on the Feynman method.
Or, put another way, I’ll follow in the footsteps of what great minds have already written, create a script in my East Texas slang, study it until it’s internalized, and then record my accountability video.
This will be a multi-year project. Actually, for me, it’s a ‘rest of my life on earth’ project.
So, we’ve got our work cut out for us, and it’s a blessing. My hope is that God will bless me with enough time in life to do this and share it with others as soon as I’ve internalized each piece.
My hope for you is that you will be inspired to help others and make disciples in your own way, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
God bless.
